Matt Eddy |
President of Habersham Furniture Company, Toccoa, GA |
The company started in 1972 in an old abandoned laundromat with no money and no credit and Matt and his brother working alongside their mother to make craft items to sell in their shop. In 1982, two men from Gatlinburg, Tennessee, placed a $5,000 order and not having the money to even purchase the wood, they asked for and received an advance of $3,500 which became their capital. Matt, his mother and brother worked 7 days a week from 7:00 to 11:00 reinvesting all the money they made back into the business. This business has now grown into a multimillion-dollar, multi-nation company. Matt is a testimony of God's grace--prior to this time, he was in 12 different jails in as many years for drug and alcohol abuse. God got his attention finally in 1982 in the Los Angeles County jail where Matt gave his life to Christ. |
