NOV 13 Dr. Richard "Rich" McCormick, MD, MBA

Emergency Medicine Physician

 

Dr. Richard McCormick is an Emergency Medicine Physician at Gwinnett Medical Center, where dealing with life-threatening trauma and illness is a daily occurrence. With over 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and Navy, Rich served in combat zones in Africa, the Persian Gulf and Afghanistan. As a Marine, he flew helicopters, served in Special Forces, and taught at Georgia Tech and Morehouse College as the Marine Officer Instructor. Rich earned the rank of Commander in the Navy and served as the department head for the Emergency Medicine Department in Afghanistan. He is a graduate of Morehouse School of Medicine and completed his residency through Emory while training at Grady Hospital in Atlanta. Rich recently announced his intention to seek the U.S. Congressional seat vacated by Rep. Rob Woodall.


NOV 20 Gary J. Pernice,

Executive Manager for Commercial Funding, Platinum Business Group, Ltd.

 

Gary has over 30 years of business, mortgage funding, legal and real estate experience and also speaks to business and church organizations on a variety of topics from business and planning to finance and capital needs. Gary has appeared on numerous local, state, regional and national television and radio programs, published a number of articles on mortgage finance and his testimony of his climb back from catastrophic illness and personal failures in business and family. He is Chairman of the CBMC Atlanta Metro Area Leadership Team and co-founder of the Austell Fellowship Luncheon (AFL). Gary graduated from Oral Roberts University and received his Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine University School of Law.


NOV 27 Santa Claus (AKA Tony Webb),

Tony joined the US Air Force in 1968 as a helicopter mechanic and departed after seven years as a Staff Sergeant. After graduating in 1977 from the University of Georgia and the US Army Ranger school, he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant as a Cavalry Armor Officer and was later dual branched in the Ordnance (Maintenance) Branch. He retired as a Major from the US Army in 1993 and retired again from being a stock broker in 2007. He then worked as a Gwinnett County Deputy Sheriff and was in the private security business until 2013. Tony began distributing the Juice Plus products (https://tonywebb.juiceplus.com) in March of that year. He became an actor in 1999 and has been in over 50 stage plays (can be found at Facebook at "In Towne Santa"). Tony holds a BBA from UGA and an MBA from Embry Riddle University. He is also a graduate of Leadership Gwinnett and past President of the Snellville Commerce Club.

DEC 11 Randy Brunson, AIF,

Founding Shareholder of Centurion Advisory Group.

 

Randy has invested most of his 35-year career in the area of financial services. He spent a number of years on the institutional side and had the opportunity to start a successful financial planning firm in 1991. Centurion Advisory Group serves individual and corporate clients both in Georgia and throughout the country, offering personal and business financial planning, financial administration, and investment management services. Randy studied engineering and marketing at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. He passed the examination for the Certified Financial Planner designation as well as for the Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation, and has completed studies in qualified plan design, estate planning, and business transition planning. He also speaks and writes regularly on these topics.


DEC 18 Larry D. Veal,

President of B-Moe Positive.

  Larry is a professional comedian and award-winning youth activist. For more than 20 years, he has been using his gifts to inspire and motivate at-risk youth and encourage adults and school systems to emphasize prevention over punishment. His heart is to share who God is with troubled youth and how we and they can do all things through Him who strengthens us. (Philippians 4:13) At 19, leaving behind the inner city gangs of his hometown Indianapolis, walking by faith despite having been denied admission three times, Larry headed to Paine College in Augusta, Georgia, to convince the administrators otherwise. He had $50 in his pocket and all his belongings in a trash bag and pillowcase. Larry graduated with honors from Paine and was recognized by the college in 2005 as their Alumni of the Year, received NAACP's Making A Difference Award, as well as Gwinnett County's 2010 Best Minority Non Profit Award. He has authored two books, a faith based curriculum, and spearheaded Gwinnett County Public Schools' Community-Based Mentoring Program, a program that will be showcased at the 2019 National Mentoring Conference in Washington, DC.
